Vivaciously violet - just look at that color! Let's Dance Rave is a reblooming bigleaf hydrangea from Proven Winners selected for superior flowering performance and lush, saturated color. It's not every day you find a hydrangea with this unique shade of purple-violet, and because it's such an excellent rebloomer, you'll have plenty to enjoy, too. Dark green, disease-resistant foliage and sturdy stems help make Let's Dance Rave hydrangea an eminently garden-worthy flowering shrub.

What makes Let's Dance Rave different from other bigleaf hydrangeas?

  • Intense violet flowers
  • Superior reblooming ability - reblooms faster and better than other rebloomers

Details:
Name:
Hydrangea macrophylla 'SMNHMSIGMA' pp#26,929, cbr#5628
Hardiness: USDA zones 5-9
Height x width: 2-3'
Light: Full to part sun
Soil: Evenly moist but well-drained soils are best. A 2-3" layer of shredded bark mulch is recommended in all areas, all year round.
Pruning: Blooms on old and new wood; do not trim or cut back, but dead wood may be removed in early spring
Water: Average to high water needs. Though big leaf hydrangeas cannot grow in wet soils, they can become drought stressed readily and should be watered regularly. Plants in full sun and/or warmer climates will need more water than those in less sun and/or cooler areas.
Fertilizer: Fertilize once in early spring with a rose fertilizer if desired.
Bloom time: Midsummer through fall.
Bloom color: Flower color depends on soil pH; blooms will be a vivid violet-purple in acidic conditions and a bright, rich pink in neutral to alkaline sites.
Uses: A classic choice for including in gardens and landscaping, it also makes a nice choice for low hedges and containers.
